After working a few different jobs while taking a break from college, I decided to attempt something different and work with animals. Growing up I always loved animals, and would much rather deal with animals than with people. I figured I’d give it a try to see if I would like to pursue a career in the field.
If you could have any animal in the world as a pet, what would it be, and why?
If I could have any pet in the world, it would probably be any kind of monkey. There’s not much reason why I just think it would be fun to have.
Do you currently have any pets? What are their names and what is your favorite thing about them?
I have one all black cat named Phoenix. And my favorite thing about her is how much she sort of looks like she’s always smiling.
What do you find most rewarding about working with animals?
I feel like the most rewarding thing about working with animals, is the privilege of earning their trust. It’s hard to describe how rewarding it is when a dog that knows very little about you, in a short amount of time decides to put their trust in you.
